Debunking 5 Myths:

Science

1. A Calorie is NOT a Calorie:

Not bulkyBumping up the protein and lowering your carbohydrate intake, not lowering fat, is truly
the best way to burn fat.

2. Fat is NOT the “F” word:

Fructose (not fat), not only contributes to fat gain, but impairs liver function and even Metabolic Syndrome (precursor condition to Type II Diabetes). Fructose hides in many places such as sodas, fruit juices, frozen entrees, breads and fruit cups among other products.

3. “Agave nectar” and “fruit juice concentrates” are NOT better sweeteners:

Both contain high levels of fructose (nearly 94% of fructose can be found in agave nectar) and are actually worse than moderate amounts of cane sugar or honey.

4. Protein does NOT make you bulky:

Protein help minimize the muscle loss that occurs on reduced-calorie diets. Keeping muscles healthy will help you burn more fat.

5. NOT all proteins are created equal:

Whey protein is designed by nature for easy digestion, to aid in building muscle, and to accelerate fat loss when compared to other proteins like soy, wheat or oat.
